The University of Washington Husky Marching Band (HMB) is a 240-member ensemble utilizing the traditional Chair step style of marching. The HMB is a year-round ensemble that actively participates in supporting all of the Husky Athletics. Members participate during the fall to help support Husky Football at all home football games and even selected away games. The 2007 season is the 78th for the HMB.[1]
The HMB has played as far a field as the College Football Hall of Fame in Southbend, Indiana.[2] In addition, the HMB plays at various community and local school events, including a performance at a local high school football game this year.[3]
The directors of the University of Washington Husky Marching Band have been:
- Walter C. Welke (1929-1956)
- Bill Cole (1957-1969)
- Bill Bissell (1970-1993)
- Dr. Brad McDavid (1994-Present)[4]
Band performs during pre-game activities at Husky Stadium.
