University of Twente (or Twente University) is a university located in Enschede, Netherlands. It was founded in 1961, and is unique in that it is the only campus type university in the country. The emphasis is mainly on technical subjects combined with sociocultural aspects. The name refers to the Twente region situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands.

The faculties of the University of Twente are primarily responsible for teaching and personnel, whereas the institutes are primarily responsible for research. As with most Dutch universities, most studies at the University of Twente also have a study association linked to them.
