The University of Santa Monica is a private graduate school in Santa Monica, California, offering Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Spiritual Psychology.[1] According to their website, the purpose of USM's education in Spiritual Psychology is for people to develop greater awareness of themselves as spiritual beings who have a body but are not their body, who have a mind but are not their mind, and who have emotions but are not their emotions. In the courses at USM, this state of awareness beyond the mind, body, and emotions is referred to as the Authentic Self, which experiences Love, Peace, Joy, Compassion, and Wisdom.[2] The institution lacks educational accreditation.[3]
