University of San Diego refers to a private Roman Catholic university in San Diego, California.
Three other educational institutions in San Diego have similar names and are often confused with one another:
- The University of California, San Diego, popularly known as UCSD, is one of ten campuses of the public University of California system; it has schools of medicine, pharmacy, and engineering, and is affiliated with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
- San Diego State University, popularly known as SDSU or San Diego State, is one of the 23 campuses of the public California State University system.
- San Diego City College, popularly known as "City College" within San Diego, is a community college offering general education courses and two-year associate's degrees. It is a member of the public California Community College System system and is administered by the San Diego Community College District.
