The University of Lahore (UOL) is a university in Lahore, Pakistan. The university has become one of the finest institutions of higher education in Pakistan[citation needed]. Accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and The Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, the university is not recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
It is a comprehensive research university that, in the last six years, but has not grown to take its place among the recognized institutions of Pakistan. Their students are served by 200 faculty members who focus on high-quality teaching and counseling.
The university has engineering departments in Pakistan. Electrical engineering of this university is recently recognised by the PEC. Admissions are now highly based upon merit. Fall 2007 engineering merit was about 79%.
The university has also the very bestest labs for research purposes in engineering and pharmacy in Pakistan.

[edit] Lahore Campus
Lahore Campus of the University is situated in the industrial area of Lahore called Raiwind. The campus spreads over an area of 35 canal, consisting of three academic blocks, administration block, resource center, laboratories, library and an auditorium. Nearly 2,900 full-time students are enrolled in graduate and professional degree programs. The campus also has separate hostels for male and female students, accommodating about 100 students each.

Department of Management Sciences
The new millennium marks a unique opportunity as well as challenges for educational institutes. In a constantly changing environment and with ever increasing challenges, educators are seeking every opportunity to improve their performance. Department of Management Sciences (DMS) at the University of Lahore understands these challenges and is actively engaged in that effort. As a business school, DMS is committed to partnership among students, employers, faculty, alumni and the business community at large. Our business programmes are carefully developed and reviewed from time to time, so that we are able to incorporate new ideas, knowledge and research. Our objective is to take students beyond the schooling regimen and into a live business process.The Department of Management Sciences (DMS) has acquired the services of highly competent faculty. It includes those holding Ph. D degrees and MBAs with professional executive experience. The research centre developed at DMS keeps the faculty abreast with recent developments in business-related subjects. The teachers are active participants of national and international seminars and conferences and undertake research and consulting projects with national and multinational organisations. The education of students through applied and proven management theories remains the primary focus of the faculty.

Computing and Information Technology has grown significantly not only in the current financial, economic and corporate world, but also in our personal lives. The world has become a global village, with continuous development in technology based on computers and information systems. Today global stock markets, military establishments, educational institutions, governments, corporations and even small business rely on computers and information technology.
Department of Electrical Engineering
Engineering is a challenging, exciting and rewarding area of study. It is a rapidly advancing field that has a significant impact on shaping modern society. It is a creative process involving the design of systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs. Throughout our curriculum, students gain experience with both the fundamentals of design as well as realistic engineering problems. Creativity and design experience are introduced by means of open-ended problems, use of modern computer-aided tools, and laboratory work.

The school's reputation seems to have spread beyond just domestic applicants though, as a large number of applications also come in from the Middle East, the Far East, Central Asia, and other parts of South Asia. Recently, University of Lahore acknowledged its place as one of the first university in Pakistan to conduct bilateral exchange programs for undergraduate students.
