The University of Chicago Botanic Garden is a term used to define the designated areas within the University of Chicago's campus that are deemed to be noteworthy botanical locations. Since 1997, the campus has been recognized as an official botanical garden by the American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta. Over the past ten years, the University had made significant investments in the campus landscape, creating more display gardens and further broadening the plant palette that is in use. Each year, we work with donors to develop new gardens, install and cultivate them to create an idyllic location for the faculty, staff, students, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods.
