MacEwan Student Centre
The University of Calgary Students' Union is the collective voice of the 23,000 undergraduate students at the University of Calgary. It is one of the three biggest Student Union organizations in the country in terms of capital. Every Undergraduate registered at the University of Calgary is a member of the Students' Union by virtue of paying tuition and fees. The Students' Union is a multifacted organization serving as part student government, part lobby group, and part business. Students are elected to serve on the Students' Union for one year following elections held in the second week of February.

Federally, the University of Calgary Students' Union participates in the Canadian Alliance of Students Associations and provincially, they are a member of the Council of Alberta University Students.

The Students' Union executive oversees an annual budget of over $12 million, $25 million in assets, and a staff of 55 full time employess. The base of operations for the Students' Union is located at the heart of the UofC campus in the MacEwan Student Centre, which is in actuality three separate buildings under one roof. Each year the SU donates numerous scholarships and bursaries to students, and since 1996 has awarded almost $8 million to over 10,000 recipients. The Students' Union owns and operates a full-service restaurant and bar "the Den and Black Lounge", the campus copy centre "Bound and Copied", the campus volunteer centre, a convenience store, the Campus Food Bank, a conference and event centre, and the "Mac Hall" concert facilities (opened in 2001). Additional servcies include the online housing registry, campus lost and found, travel and conference funding, campus "Safewalk", the Students'Union Student Rights Advisor, 160 student clubs, various awareness weeks, "Cinemania", and the time-honoured end-of-year-crasher "Bermuda Shorts Day".
