University of Arid Agriculture

The University of Arid Agriculture is located at Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. In the 1970s, the government of Punjab established an Agricultural College Pawalpindi for the development of rain fed agriculture. The college was upgraded to the level of the University in 1994.[3] Currently UAAR offers degrees in Computer Sciences, Management Sciences, Pure Sciences, Agriculture and other Arts and Fine Arts programs.

The University teaches courses in four faculties, one division and two institutes (as well as joint programs with other institutions)[4]:

  • Faculty of Crop and Food Sciences
  • Faculty of Sciences
  • Faculty of Forestry, Range Management and Wildlife (with departments in Forestry and Range Mangement, Environmental Sciences and Wildlife Management)[5]
  • Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (with department in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Basic Science, Patho-Biology, Clinical Studies and Poultry Science) 85 students
  • Division of Continuing Education, Home Economics & Women Development[6]
  • University Institute of Management Sciences[7]
  • University Institute of Information Technology[8]
