University of Adelaide School of Dentistry

University of Adelaide School of Dentistry is one of the graduate schools of the University of Adelaide.

In addition to the undergraduate dental program and dental hygiene program, Adelaide offers specialty training programs combined with the Doctor of Clincal Dentistry degree, advanced training programs, and research degrees including MScDent, PhD, and DDSc programs.

The School of Dentistry has a long and distinguished research history. It is home to the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health and the Colgate Clinical Dental Research Centre, which is the most advanced dental research centre in the southern hemisphere.

Areas of Research strengths include: Craniofacial Biology[1], Forensic Odontology[2], Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery[3], Oral Microbiology, Dental Education[4], Dental Materials, and Oral Pathology.

The Faculty of Dentistry offers formal graduate programs leading to a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree (DClinDent) in the following areas:

The Faculty also offers graduate programs in Forensic Odontology and Restorative dentistry.

The Faculty also currently runs a 2-year clinical bridging course for overseas trained dentists who would like an accredited qualification to practice in Australia.

  • The University of Adelaide School of Dentistry is accredited by the Australian Dental Council and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
  • The Dental Faculty is currently applying for accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the United States (CODA) and the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
