The University Daily Kansan is a student newspaper serving the University of Kansas. It was founded in 1904. Its distribution is within the university and the Lawrence, Kansas metropolitan area. It is published daily during the spring and fall semesters and weekly during the summer months.
Darla Slipke is the editor for the Spring 2008 semester. [1]
The newspaper earned the prestigious Newspaper Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press in 1993, 1994, 1995, 2000, 2004 and 2005. The Kansan was a finalist for the award in 2001 and 2007.
