The Universidad del Atlántico (University of the Atlantic) is the main public academic center for higher education in Barranquilla, Colombia. It is the state university of the Atlántico department.

Founded on June 15, 1943 by the philosopher Julio Enrique Blanco, it offers a wide range of educational training at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including a diverse range of engineering programs, as well as medicine, business management, law, education, fine arts, and several other areas of study.

It has a population of more than 30,000 students and more than 400 persons distributed in its academic, professorial, and administrative staffs. Nowadays, the Universidad del Atlántico has three campuses in Barranquilla, the North Campus, the Downtown Campus, and the School of Fine Arts. The master plan covers its expansion to other towns in the periphery of the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
