The Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander (UFPS, Francisco de Paula Santander University) is a university located in Cúcuta, Colombia.

The university was founded on July 5, 1962 Its establishment was later recognized by Decree number 37 of 1964 and made official by means of decree 323 of May 13, 1970 of the Columbian government.

The Francisco de Paula Santander University, is an independent university, the property of the Education Ministry and organized as a public establishment of an academic character.

Its main campus is located in Cúcuta, it has a branch in the city of Ocaña and in the municipality of Chinacota in addition it has regional centers of Open Education in some municipalities of the departments of Norte de Santander, Cundinamarca, Santander, Cesar, Sucre, Bolívar, Magdalena, Arauca, and San Andrés y Providencia. It is able to extend its operational range according to need under the General Statute of the Institution.
