The Universal Pantheist Society seeks to bring together Pantheists of various traditions and understandings, believing that standing together can help create a stronger community and provide greater intellectual stimulation for its participants.
According to the Universal Pantheist Society website, "The Universal Pantheist Society was the first organization to recognize Pantheism as a religion (organized under U.S. 501(c)(3) statutes). It is a membership organization that has been serving Pantheists worldwide since 1975.
Pantheism is "an ancient faith, but its principles have never been more relevant. It fulfills a vital need in regaining harmony between Earth and Humanity, as well as providing a satisfying world view for personal growth and human relationships". "

It is overseen by an elected Board of Directors and publishes a quarterly Journal, Pantheist Vision, which presents articles relating to the modern philosophy and practice of pantheism. Edited by Society co-founder Harold Wood, the journal features member-submitted articles and personal interpretations of pantheism from both members and notable figures. Individual issues are brief, running 10 to 15 pages.
