United States service medals of the World Wars

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United States service medals of the World Wars are U.S. military decorations which were created solely as a result of the First World War and World War II. Such medals are now considered obsolete, but may still be found in various publications, manuals, and award precedence charts due to the high number of veterans who still display such medals as part of veteran functions and ceremonies.

The following medals were issued for participation in the World Wars, service in various campaign areas, and also for occupation service following the end of each conflict.
