United States Senate elections, 2014

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elections to the United States Senate will be held on November 4, 2014, with 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate being contested. Since Senators are elected for six-year terms, those elected will serve from January 3, 2015 until January 3, 2021. They will join Senate Class II, which traces its roots back to the Senators who served full six-year terms from March 4, 1789 until March 3, 1795.

The partisan composition of the seats up for election will be largely determined by the outcome of the 2008 U.S. Senate elections, as senators elected then will be up for reelection in 2014. The House elections will occur on the same date, as well as some state and local elections.
