The United States Senate election of 1988 in Massachusetts was held on November 1, 1988 with the incumbent Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy defeating his challengers.

  • Senator Ted Kennedy - incumbent Senator elected in 1962 and reelected in 1964, 1970, 1976, and 1982. Ran for president in 1980, and was subsequently reelected in 1994, 2000, and 2006.

  • Joseph D. Malone- Subsequently elected to State Tresurer in 1990 and reelected in 1994. Later ran an abortive campaign for Governor in 1998.
