The 2008 Illinois election for the United States Senate will be held on November 4, 2008. The Democratic candidate is incumbent Dick Durbin. Dr. Steve Sauerberg won the Republican primary. The Congressional Quarterly has declared this race "Safe Democrat", and Karl Rove's now famous PowerPoint presentation referred to the Illinois Senate race as non-competitive.
