United States Ambassador to Algeria

This is a list of United States ambassadors to Algeria. The American embassy to Algeria was established September 29, 1962.
From 1962 to 1967, the United States had formal diplomatic ties with Algeria, however diplomatic ties were severed in 1967 under the military dictatorship of Houari Boumédienne.

From 1967 to 1974, the United States had an Interests Section through the Swiss embassy in Algeria.

In 1974, formal diplomatic ties were restored.
