United Nations Security Council Resolution 250

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United Nations Security Council Resolution 250, adopted on April 27, 1968, warned Israel against holding an Independence Day Parade in its capital city, Jerusalem, in 1969. Israel chose to ignore this resolution on the basis that other countries did the same. In response, the Council passed UNSC resolution 251 condemning Israel for celebrating its independence in its capital.[1] The United States and Canada abstained from this resolution.
