United Democratic Front (India)

United Democratic Front (UDF) is an alliance of progressive, pro-development political parties of Kerala state in India. This alliance is led by the Indian National Congress.

UDF has ruled Kerala for many terms and under its rule the alliance tried to make Kerala leading state of India by improving the socio-economic status. The last UDF government (2001-2006) was led by Oommen Chandy. UDF lost control to the Left Democratic Front in the Kerala Assembly Election held in 2006.
