The United Charities Building, also known as United Charities Building Complex was built in 1893 by a wealthy businessman in order to provide his favorite charities a low cost location for their operations. Other charities were allowed to rent space at below market rates.[4]
The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1991.[2],[5],[6]
