Union Academy

Union Academy is a K-12 school located in Monroe, North Carolina. The school was founded in 2000 by Tim Laniak. Union Academy is a charter school that focuses heavily on character education. Its students learn about such character traits as responsibility, respect, optimism, perseverance, adaptability, trustworthiness, initiative, and compassion.

The school is adding a junior varsity football team for the 2008-2009 season. They do not have a varsity program as of now. Their school colors are red and black, and their teams are known as the Cardinals. This name came about because of a cardinal who built a nest next to the principal's first office.
