UniBuss, formerly known as Nexus Trafikk, is a Norwegian bus company that operates in Oslo, Norway. It is a subsidiary of Sporveisbussene, owned by the municipal Kollektivtransportproduksjon and was created in 2003 so the company could be compete for the public service obligation (PSO) contracts that Oslo was to operate the bus system through. While the mother company still operates some routes that have not been subject to PSO contracts, as of 2006 Nexus has won two of the contracts in Oslo, which are awarded by Oslo Sporveier, in addition to contracts with Stor-Oslo Lokaltrafikk in Akershus.[1] The company has since become subject to the new entity Ruter the covers both counties.
Along with its owner Sporveisbussene, UniBuss has about 900 employees, 350 buses and a revenue of NOK 600 million, about half of this is through UniBuss. After the contracts awarded in 2005 the company has implemented to thirds new buses with Euro IV emission standars on its routes.[2][3] The transfer of routes to UniBuss has been criticized among other things because the employees in Nexus have worse pension conditions than in Sporveisbussene.[4]
