[edit] Culture

Is the "Culture" section really necessary? I doubt anyone from outside UTP will understand a single word of it?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.185.22.29 (talk) 30 November 2006, 03:52 (UTC)

LOL. what's the purpose of putting the culture section? to distinguish our university from others. we have unique culture, why don't we share it with the world? have you ever visit wikipedia page for Hardvard, Eton College and MIT? they talk (proudly) bout their culture and progress either bad or good. it such a good way in helping people understanding what we have there in UTP.
i'm quite dissapointed to see the section already sacked out. 'thanks' for sacked it out. Vlkscode 08:15, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
No need to be sarcastic, mate. It's entirely fine to talk about culture. But check out the page history and have a look at the Culture section previously. I doubt anyone from outside Malaysia would have understood it. If the Culture section is there for the reason of helping people understand your university better, then edit it in a way that people can understand and not with terminologies and jargons that no one except your university students can understand.
We're not trying to be funny or rude. It's just part of the process in making this article relevant.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.111.6.40 (talk) 3 January 2007, 15:33 (UTC)
Seriously, i just put the term for someone to deliberate more on that terms. Nobody would understand it if we couldn't explain it.

What so wrong with Jargon? If we could have someone to properly put how to pronounce it for example (IPA: /mə'le.ʒə, mə'lei.ʒə, mə'lei.zi.ɑ/). Also slowly everybody could contribute to it. Ok, at first place maybe jargon is too small to be consider as culture (if you go outside there, people easily recognise UTP student from our jargon so if that's something we couldn't put it here, it just too bad), then things like MIRC, BBS, online game, gaming community, and such things could be a very good reference for UTP's culture. 211.25.129.2 (talk) 09:22, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism

I think we require a section "Criticism" here. I'm sure there are plenty of things to highlight by the students of UTP on the management, facilities, treatment etc. This is to make this article more fair and balance - as the current article is too one-sided. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chew33 (talkcontribs) 14:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Moved to 'Petronas University of Technology'

I have moved this article from Universiti Teknologi Petronas to Petronas University of Technology.

  • This name seems a natural translation to me (and the editor(s) who provided translation within this article), and is sourced from here, the website of the University's English architect.
