[edit] Year Established
I have read a few information in the university's website and it says there that UPM which was formerly known as the "School of Agriculture" started and was established on 21 May 1931 by John Scott. And they are celebrating or celebrated their 75th Anniversary... I haven't seen the year 1971 in there. Hoping that somebody could fix this one. Thanks! Fddfred talk 10:31, 16 March 2007 (UTC).
UPM was established from 1931 from School of Agriculture. Then, 1942, declared to be the College of Agriculture Malaya. After that, in 1971 The creation of this University was based on the merger of the College of Agriculture Malaya with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Malaya. Admin UPM.
[edit] Controversy

[edit] URL
The URL needs a little bit of serious mending. University_of_Putra. The "of" needs to be dropped. It sounds very weird indeed. Putra is not a place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kerina yin (talk • contribs) 08:29, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have moved the whole article over to Universiti Putra Malaysia and re-translated the English name as Putra University, Malaysia. There's bound to be some debate about reverting to the Malay name for the article in view of WP:NC(UE). My rationale is based on the fact that there's no established usage of an official English translation of the name (see WP:NC(UE) - No established usage). - Bob K 21:26, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
