Talk:Universidad de Ciencias Medicas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Avargasm 06:22, 12 April 2007 (UTC) According to the second external link[1] provided at the end of the page, the "university" was "founded on June 24th, 1999". Far from having any kind of "legacy" of "excellence in the teachings of medicine" and "great prestige in the field nationally and internationally". How could such a young university be as "famous" as stated in the article?
If the study plan were as long as in most of the important universities, the first generations of graduated students would be coming out right now.
The university was founded first with the name of UACA, however due to an independization of the medical school from UACA it was later name UCIMED. In Costa Rica people still refer UCIMED as UACA since it is still in the university is still in the same building.
Also, many of the user avargasm changes in the UCIMED page are vandalism.
Avargasm 07:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC) ">>>Also, many of the user avargasm changes in the UCIMED page are vandalism." Could you prove that? I am only signaling what the weasel words are and placing the respective templates, to help the author correct the article using a Neutral Point of View. Nothing more, everyone can check that in the history.
User avargasm made changes in this page such as calling ucimed "University chinamo". Moreover, he critize the founder of the university Guzman Callejas by mentioning "Yeah, after some time they realized that pharmacology could make more money for Mr Guzman Calleja, the former founder" In addition Mr Guzman the of founder has already died and avargasm should show some respect. Language in the changes of avargasm were vulgar at times and they seemed extremely biased example of this is "If you still do not believe this, make a search in google and see how many pages you can get, look what about are that pages ...", "So famous is that I live in Costa Rica and the only one time that I hear about this Chinamo University, was one time in the news, lot of students were in problems with poor laboratories, poor quelity of the education they were receiving" Basically, user avargasm is attacking UCIMED negatively due to bias.
Avargasm 07:52, 12 April 2007 (UTC) Could you prove that? I recommend you to look carefully at the history, to not make false statements about my contributions.
And remember that "Wikipedia is not an advertising service. The UCIMED page mentions information about the foundation of the university, the major it has and the covenants the universities has with hospitals.

[edit] Maybe you don't know how to use the history
Avargasm 08:11, 12 April 2007 (UTC) If you look carefully at the history, you will see that those changes were introduced by user 201.196.142.62, not me.
are you an administrator of wikipedia avargasm or just a contributor?
If you really want to make this page better and more neutral then you are welcome to discuss it, sorry if there was a confusion in the history
Avargasm 08:25, 12 April 2007 (UTC) Just a contributor. I do not intend to destroy your article, only would like to see a truly encyclopedic unbiased article about your university. And in Wikipedia terms, that means "verifiable".
Avargasm, UCIMED is a university founded 31 years ago, the reference of this are in the website of this university, however due to server problems it has been temporarly shut down. In the past UCIMED was called UACA but there was later a name change.
Again avargasm i am sorry to have confused you with the vandal who was making nasty changes on the UCIMED page. I have little experience with wikipedia and do not know how to reference source adecuately. Moreover, there are sources i used that are not webiste so i do not know how to cite them.
Avargasm 08:30, 12 April 2007 (UTC) No problem at all ! :) I am sure that an administrator will know how to guide you to make the citations and make this a better article.
[edit] In the past UCIMED was called UACA but there was later a name change.
Avargasm 09:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC) In my opinion, this is the kind of useful information that an encyclopedic article could provide and that could be introduced in your article. What is the history of UACA? Why did the name change? Etc.
Thank you avargasm there should more ppl like you in wikipedia and less vandals, feel free to help me construct this page it will be appreciated by the community.
[edit] Improper / irrelevant references
Avargasm 19:54, 14 April 2007 (UTC) References in Wikipedia are not to be taken lightly, I suggest you read the links I put on your talk page. Usually web pages are not a valid source of references.
Well avargasm one of the webpages is from SINAES. That means it is from the official website of the ministry of education in costa rica.
Avargasm 05:32, 19 April 2007 (UTC) Yea, and the other ones? But even the SINAES page does not say that "granted UCIMED the maximum grade of acreditation for its excellency in the teaching of medicine". Only that has clearance to teach medicine, without the weasel words you are using.
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kaplogotestprep.gif
Image:Kaplogotestprep.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
