Talk:United States Senate election in Nebraska, 2006

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I oppose the suggestion that Pete Ricketts' article be merged into this one. Nearly all major party nominees for the Senate this year have their own pages. In fact, these pages are often linked to from outside Wikipedia on political websites tracking the candidates. For instance, see The 2006 Senate Races. Furthermore, Pete Ricketts has spend about $10 million becoming visible in Nebraska. Anyone with a television in Nebraska will be able to verify that you can't see a commercial break without seeing a Ricketts ad. I believe he meets the notibility requirements on WP:C&E. • Alienmercy, Pete Rickets prima facie does not meet WP:C&E, because the article has no reliable sources. The official campaign site doesn't count as a source, but if you would like to add some reliable cited material, then I'd be OK with letting the page stay where it is. • OK, I cited some sources. But, I should say that merging articles isn't the way to deal with uncited material. Alienmercy 21:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
