"Units Locations" should be renamed to "Unit Locations". "Clay Compound" and "Clay Headquartes Compound" should be renamed to "Gen. Lucius D. Clay Headquarters", as this Compound be named by the USCOB. --84.161.6.145 16:44, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

The 6941st Guard Battalion was neither a part of the US-Berlin Brigade, nor a part of the US-Army. The 6941st Guard Battalion was part of the Civilian Support Groups (CSG) Germany, attached to the USAREUR. Employees of the 6941st Gd Bn were civilian LNs (Local Nationals) and civilians from NATO and other non-communist cuuntries. I don't agree, reguardless of what the German Wikipedia article on the 6941st says, the 6941st was considered a part of the Berlin Brigade and was under the control of the Deputy Brigade Commander (DBC). It was even listed as such in the Berlin Command Telephone Directory and U.S. Army Berlin Officer/Civilian Roster at the time I was assigned to the Brigade. 6941st Officers and NCOs were listed under military ranks rather than civilan LN, GS or WG positions. Per one of the referenced websites in the article, "In Berlin bestand bis 1994 das 6941st Guard Battalion, welches dem Kommandeur der Berlin Brigade unterstand und Militäreinrichtungen der US Streitkräfte in Berlin bewacht." Sorry, but you have been cheated by all this "military stuff" around the Guard Battalion. The 6941st Gd Bn works under USAREUR Regulation 640-400 series. The DBC has been the top military advisor in the chain of command, but the Provost Marshal's Office got the supervisory funktion. You have to read the updated version of the article, the capitel "Einheit und Stärke". I asure, as a former employee of the Gurad Battalion for 19 years, in a "NCO-position", I am german and have been a civilian with no "official" military status. I have been recruited by the CPD-Berlin with a civilian contract. I have been payed by the "Landesamt für Besatzungslasten", resp. by the "Landesamt für Verteidigungslasten" of the city of Berlin representing the "Senator für Finanzen von Berlin", representing the "Minister für Finanzen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland". I was a civilian, wearing a "look a like uniform" with rank insignias very different from US-military ranking insignias. The 6941st Gd Bn was a part of the Civilian Support Groups (CSG) Germany with headquarters in Heidelberg.
