Proper referencing throughout article
Improve the flow and readability of the article
Write companion article on history of the United Nations, and summarize that here. A number of topics either need to be covered in the history article or more likely referenced in other articles, which need to have a significant amount of information on UN involvement. History might be arranged thematically to align with sections of the main article. Topics include (add more as needed): Secretaries-General of the UN, de-colonization program, WWII reconstruction, Korean War, apartheid, the entire series of Israel-Arab conflicts, major and minor peacekeeping operations (Yugoslavia, Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Somalia, Liberia, Congo), Haiti, India-Pakistan conflict, Persian Gulf wars, East Timor, breakup of the USSR, disposition of Antarctica, disposition of outer space, monitoring of elections worldwide, relations with NGOs, terrorism, the International Criminal Court, land mines.
