Talk:Unifacial cambium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As a biochemist and a scientist, I feel this article, or at least the lead paragraph, is too technical for a general audience. While the information provided seems sound, and probably should all be included in the article, I feel there should (at the very least) be a more generalized lead-in.
"The unifacial cambium is a cylindrical laterel meristem involved in secondary growth in the stems of some extinct lycophytes and equisetophytes."
In order to understand this opening paragraph, one must know what a meristem is, and be aware that lycophytes and equisetophytes are plants. Clearly, the more intelligent of us out there could deduce that since it involves stems, it must be related to plants (especially from the rest of the article and from related links). However, I think that we could fit in a little more elementary information without reducing this paragraph's overall effectiveness.
