[edit] Carol Channing
Please explain why you deleted the category African-American actors from this article. It is sourced in the article that her father was African-American. Ward3001 (talk) 16:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- "To label her as African-American, would be silly and unrealistic.": Your opinion. Tiger Woods is one-quarter African American, and few people have any difficulty labelling him African-American. Ward3001 (talk) 16:57, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

- "your disrespectful and accusatory tone": Exactly which words are "disrespectful and accusatory"? I'm arguing the issue. I'm not accusing you of anything or disrepecting you. - "Fortunately, Wikipedia isn't written just on the basis of your knowledge": Where is the "accusatory" tone? What have I accused you of? And it's not disrespectful. You repeatedly pushed your POV, and I responded that Wikipedia is not based on your POV, which is a fundamental policy of Wikipedia. Fortunately Wikipedia isn't based on my opinions either, but I wouldn't whine if someone said that. If you don't want your edits challenged, you should not edit.
- The hard evidence for Channing is in the article: A sourced statement in the article based on Channing's autobiography says that her father had "a German American father and an African American mother". And if you read the sources cited in the article, you see that she embraced her African-American heritage. That may not be enough hard evidence for you, but it is for most people and for Wikipedia's standards. Ward3001 (talk) 17:36, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
