[edit] Origin and recording
The song was written by frontman Eddie Vedder and was recorded during the sessions for Pearl Jam's seventh album, Riot Act. Eddie Vedder took the song's title from the original title for Matt Cameron's song "You Are". When commenting on the song in the liner notes for Lost Dogs, Vedder stated, "This one sounds best in a car,...It benefits from scenery passing at 40-60 mph (on the way to a demonstration or voting booth!)."[1]
[edit] Live performances
The song was premiered live at the band's September 1, 2005 concert in George, Washington.[2] A live performance of "Undone" can be found on the Live at the Gorge 05/06 box set.
