Underneath the Same Moon is an album recorded by John Rich, who is now a member of Big & Rich. The album was recorded in 1999, after Rich was fired from the country group Lonestar. However, like Big Kenny's (Big & Rich's other member) 1999 album Live a Little, this album was not released until 2005, after Big & Rich had released their first album.
"I Pray for You" was a chart single on the Hot Country Songs charts for Rich in 2000, peaking at #58. Kenny also recorded the song on Live a Little; as Big & Rich, they would record the song again for their 2005 album Comin' to Your City.
The title track to Underneath the Same Moon was later recorded by Blake Shelton on his 2003 album The Dreamer, while "She Brings the Lightnin' Down" was later recorded by Shannon Brown on her 2006 album Corn Fed.
