[edit] Series Background
Like all Hardy Boys series, the Undercover Brothers is about two teenage brother detectives, Frank and Joe Hardy, who are the sons of world famous PI, Fenton Hardy. Although there are many similarities in this series to previous Hardy Boys series, there are also many changes, here are just a few:
- The Hardy boys are undercover agents for ATAC (American Teens Against Crime), a top secret government organization, co-founded by their father, Fenton, and are solving more realistic and/or violent crimes.
- The books in this series are written in first-person narrative style with Frank and Joe alternating chapters.
- The Hardy boys' aunt's name is shortened from Gertrude to Trudy, but is very much the same person.
- Frank and Joe no longer date their long time girlfriends, Callie Shaw (Frank's girlfriend) and Iola Morton (Joe's girlfriend).

The Murder House Trilogy will be a three part mini-series, the first book in the trilogy (Deprivation House) will be published on May 20th, 2008, with books #2 House Arrest and #3 Murder House published in July and September respectively.
At this time it is unclear whether the three books in the trilogy will also be Undercover Brothers #22-#24 or if the regular books will be on hiatus or if they will be replaced permanently with a new mini-series format.
The Murder House Trilogy will be the first Hardy Boys mini-series since 1993 and only the third one ever. (The other two are the Operation Phoenix Trilogy and the Ring of Evil Trilogy.)
The Nancy Drew Girl Detective series will also run a three part mini-series; the Perfect Mystery Trilogy which will run from June 2008-October 2008.
