Under the Jolly Roger is a young adult historical fiction novel set in the early 1800s. It is the third book in a series by L.A. Meyer starting with Bloody Jack.

After leaving Lawson Peabody, a boarding school in Boston, Jacky goes to London to try to meet up with Jaimy.But when she arrives there is a big surprise. She sees him with another girl, and mistakenly assumes he has been unfaithful. She had dressed like a boy to find him, after getting his mothers not so blessing, so she is mistaken for a boy and forced onto a ship. The Wolverine, the ship, is captained by a horrible man. Jacky must now face the captain, and keep the men from mutiny. along the way she almost loses her "innocence". later she and jaimy meet, and she forgives him again. (She ends up taking control of the ship, winning all the crew's loyalty, capturing French spies around the coast of France. However, because she does not turn over all of the ships she won to the English government, she is convicted of piracy, but escapes and has to run for her life.)
