Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance

The Under Secretary for Domestic Finance, within the United States federal government, is a high-ranking Department of the Treasury position that reports to, advises, and assists the Secretary of the Treasury and the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.[1] The Under Secretary leads Department policy on the issues of domestic finance, fiscal policy, fiscal operations, government assets, government liabilities, and other related economic and fiscal matters.[2]
The Under Secretary has oversight of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions, the Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Development Policy, the Director of the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, the Bureau of the Public Debt, and the Fiscal Assistant Secretary. The Under Secretary receives reports from the Fiscal Assistant Secretary on the Financial Management Service.[1]
The current Under Secretary is Robert K. Steel.[2] Former Under Secretaries by recency include Randall K. Quarles,[3] Brian C. Roseboro, [4], Peter R. Fisher,[5] Gary Gensler, [6], John D. Hawke, Jr., [7] and Frank N. Newman.[8]
