Under My Skin is the second single by British based blues-rock trio Winterville. It was released on CD and iTunes on October 10, 2005, 5 weeks before the release of the band's debut album Everything in Moderation. Unlike their previous single, Shotgun Smile, "Under My Skin" had not appeared on any releases previously, but did appear on Everything in Moderation. The B-side is "Stand Here and Wait", a song that did not appear on any subsequent Winterville release.

[edit] Songs

"Under My Skin", as the title might suggest, is a song about addiction[1]. Once again it highlights the moody darkness first seen on Shotgun Smile, which was replicated on several tracks on the debut album.

"Stand Here and Wait" is one of Winterville's bolder tracks, with a confident riff and swaggering solo. It is popular among fans, who have speculated as to why it was not included as an album track, when the last single's B-side, "Penny For The Fool" was included. There has been no official confirmation of any speculation, though the consensus among fans is that the band were not completely happy with the song in time for it to be included, but later perfected it, and released it as a B-side.

[edit] Video

While the song itself has no video in the tradtional MTV sense of the word, a video was included on the enhanced CD. This was a video of a live performance of the song Shotgun Smile. It had been recorded as part of a set the band played for the UK Student Union TV network, SubTV, recorded in 2005.
