While Rez was present in the movie, I wouldn't say it was particularly featured. And it definitely wasn't ground-breakingly significant the way NUXX was in Trainspotting. I just don't think it's a notable enough appearance to warrant a mention. --  Tabanger  09:39, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

But that's all just trivial listing. None of those songs' appearances in movies is particularly significant or notable. NUXX is the only one that's notable, and that's it. --  Tabanger  03:37, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Can someone please clarify this for me: the introduction to the article implies that Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have recorded under the name Underworld since the late 1970s, yet the article proper begins by discussing the band's origins in the early 1980s. The first albums mentioned in the article were recorded in 1983 - and not under the name Underworld. Have they in fact recorded as Underworld since the late 1970s, or is this supposed to say "since the late 1980s"? Cheers. Comedianofdestruction 05:15, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

While both versions of the track appear on the Trainspotting soundtrack, it is the epic original which plays through the ending dialogue. Suggest you check the source on this one. 13:42, 1 November 2005 (PST)

Sorry, but again, you simply don't know what you're talking about. I don't need to check my sources, because I've listened to the songs hundreds of times. You are obviously unfamiliar with Born Slippy and Born Slippy .NUXX. Born Slippy doesn't even have any lyrics! The track featured in the Trainspotting movie and on the Trainspotting soundtrack, regardless of how it's labeled, is Born Slippy .NUXX (the one that actually has lyrics). The track on the Trainspotting Soundtrack Vol. 2 is a remix of NUXX called Born Slippy .NUXX (Darren Price Mix). However, neither of these tracks bears any resemblance to the song called Born Slippy.  Tabanger  01:08, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I see where the confusion is coming from. It's labeled incorrectly on the back of the Trainspotting soundtrack as "Born Slippy". It is actually "Born Slippy .NUXX". Do yourself a favor and track down the real original "Born Slippy". It's a great instrumental track, but completely different from NUXX.  Tabanger  01:29, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

A fellow named Darren Price has joined Underworld on stage lately. Note sure how to put this in the article.

In early 2005, after much rumor, Underworld announced that the group had became a trio again - this time joined by Darren Price, a DJ that was well known by the band and had remixed Underworld releases in the past. Currently the trio is recording their fifth studio album.

Can we verify this? Price has been helping them on stage with the recent tours in Europe, but I didn't think Rick and Karl ever announced that he was now a part of the band. He also wasn't credited on any of the new material released recently on their official website http://www.underworldlive.com/. -Ethan 23:14, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

I still think Darren has not officially joined the band. Consider their radio show in May -- Karl Hyde would say "You're listening to Underworld and Darren Price" every 15 minutes, being sure to make the distinction. Everything Price has made has been distinctly labeled as such, e.g. Yard Beat, Morrocan Meatballs and Aquafunk. Agreed, I'd say as long as there is not any official word from Underworld or their management about Darren Price joining the band, he should not be referenced as such on the wiki. Snakedogman 12:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Darren Price is on tour with them now, pending the liner notes of the new album, sounds like he is in Underworld now. BT14 17:47, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that he will not be listed in the liner notes, except for assistance and thanks. He is, however, a part of Underworld Live. It just seems that he is not a member of Underworld, the recording group.  Tabanger  23:35, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I got a copy of the new album and Tabanger is right. The liner notes lists Price as a member of Underworld Live, but is not listed as Underworld. BT14 23:44, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Could someone please explain within the article what "MK" refers to? It seems to separate eras, but I'm not sure (but I'm sure that several other readers are getting confused on it as well). Eptin 21:20, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

MK is just fan (like me) lingo for "mark," meaning "era," so to speak. At least that's what I thought MK stood for. I can reassure that yes, they do represent different eras of the band. Underworld fans define the eras by the band's lineup. If a member leaves or joins, a new MK is made. I would not recommend the article use the MK system. It is really only understood by fans, and there is no reference to MK 1 so it makes the article look silly. Ninetigerr 07:01, 3 August 2006 (UTC)ninetigerr

Whoever corrected the spelling of "Lemon Interupt" on 16 Sep 2007 did so erroneously - the project's name is correctly spelled with a single 'r', cf. screenshots of their 12" discs at discogs.com :

I changed it back, and I left a note for the bot owner to add "Lemon Interupt" as an exclusion phrase, so his bot doesn't "fix" the spelling again.  Tabanger  20:18, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone know when the band changed the spelling of the band name?

  • The original Underworld of the 80's was spelt "Underworld".
  • "dubnobasswithmyheadman" and "second toughest in the infants" recordings was all lower case - "underworld"
  • "Beacoup Fish" and "A Hundred Days Off" recordings the band name started with a capital and finished with a comma - "Underworld,"
  • "Oblivion With Bells" recording the band name comma has changed to a semi-colon - "Underworld;" BartBart (talk) 12:56, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I think you've got it about right. I wouldn't say they're changing the band name. It's just stylistic design. They started using the semicolon after the band name at the start of the RiverRun era in 2005. If you look carefully, you'll see they've also alternately been using UNDERworld; and UnderWORLD; Check out some of the RiverRun vinyls. --  Tabanger  21:56, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

No. You should only disambiguate if there is risk of confusion. Someone would not hit the Underworld (band) article expecting to find information about Underworld (2003 film). See the Wikipedia guidelines for more info on when to disambiguate. --  Tabanger  20:49, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

It seems a bit inconsistent to have only a select few of the Live Albums represented in the discography. I can start updating with the new albums that were released after they restarted the tour, but I was wondering if someone else might have started work on it? Yes, just no one has gotten around to the new ones yet. You're welcome to start, if you'd like.
