Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
Greetings. I notice that you've been categorizing British Science Fiction writers, which is nifty; I'd like to encourage you to, when you place a writer in a subcategory like that, eliminate from the article the categories of which the subcategory is a subcategory; i.e., if you make an article Category:British Science Fiction Writers, delete Category:British writers and Category:Science Fiction Writers. Happy editing. -- कुक्कुरोवाच|Talk‽ 23:41, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Waves
Hi. I'm just curious: what do you mean by "third wave?" (Which wave am I?) Fishal 20:11, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikiquote picture
Pardon me for asking here, but on Wikiquote we're having a discussion about the picture you're using on your user page. You might want to join the debate at q:Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/Image:Old goat-ms.jpg. Fys. “Ta fys aym”. 21:40, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- As the discussion Fys mentioned is leaning heavily toward deletion, might I suggest that you upload your image to Wikimedia Commons and include the same copyright and licensing information? (You might also want to include category tags like [[Category:Self-published work]] and [[Category:Wikipedians]].) Images on Commons may be used in any Wikimedia project with the same name and image tag. Therefore, if your Wikiquote image gets deleted, Wikiquote will simply fetch your Commons image whenever needed. This will save you the trouble of uploading to any other projects, too. Let me know if you have any questions. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 15:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
