My interests are the REAL Pacific Coast League (pre-1958) and other sports franchises located on the Left Coast of the United States. Who could ever forget the Fresno Raisin Eaters or the Mission Reds, for that matter?
Since it appears that California State Assemblyman Tom Umberg's "Truth in Sports Advertising Act" has died in Senate committee, I have taken it upon myself to disclose the following:
The NBA Golden State Warriors actually play in Oakland and have done so from 1971-1996 and from 1997-present. In 1996-1997 they played in San Jose. There is no geographical entity actually named Golden State.
The NBA Los Angeles Lakers actually played in Inglewood from 1967-1999.
The NHL Los Angeles Kings actually played in Inglewood from 1967-1999.
The PCL Hollywood Stars actually played in South Central from 1925-1936 and 1938, then in Fairfax from 1939-1957.
The PCL Mission Reds never played in the Mission District during their 1926-1937 existence.
The PCL Oakland Oaks actually played in Emeryville from 1912-1957.
