As of 2001 India census,[2] Umreth had a population of 32,192. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Umreth has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 63%. In Umreth, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Umreth is a place where one can find Baj Khedawal Brahmins as a major population. But now a days as a reason of migration and better scope in big cities, almost all new generation is getting far from their fore-fathers place. This small town is very famous for Sarees. People from nearby city and even many from far cities, come to buy sarees for their functions. Umreth is also known as "Silk City" as there are number of saree shops.Umreth is situated beside Dakor which is famous for Ranchodraiji Temple in whole India.There is held a "Havan" on ninth day of navaratri of "Verai Mata" is considered the second largest in India after Kashi.
