Thanks for pointing out the distinction between perfect and perfective. I just felt the translation of 你吃了吗? as "did you eat?" is not really idiomatic English. And if the two phrases are not interchangeable, then perhaps they are not a useful illustration of the 有 construction. Please correct if I've made any mistakes. LDHan 10:25, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
