Umbrella (born July 31, 1988) is a 5'4 asian (chinese) girl who has a particular interest in art and music. A inspired graphic designer, illustrator and photographer, she also wants to learn a thing or two about interior designing.
Though Umbrella is not my real name, most people prefer to call me Vivian.
I was born in Brooklyn, New York and was mostly raised in Orlando, Florida. Though i spent many summers in Hong Kong with my grandparents, which my parents had immigrated from and arrived a little while later to the United States of America.
In the fall of 2005, she announced to the public that she'll be studying abroad and said "America doesn't really appeal to me anymore, i would rather go studying in a foreign country and actually experience life in a new way." She has dual citizenship in the United States and in Hong Kong.

I was born on July 31, 1988 at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, New York at 11:40AM. I claim myself special for sharing the same birthdate with Dean Cain (Superman from the television series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and Wesley Snipes.
I was raised by my mother and father (both natives of Hong Kong). My father, who was a police officer at the Old Stanley Police Station, Stanley, Hong Kong and my mother who was a kindergarten teacher gave up both of their jobs in order to immigrate over to the United States of America before the 1997 Hong Kong Handover, in fear of communist change.
My family and I used to live in a high-class neighborhood in Metrowest before technical and natural problems took toll on our house and we moved to a neighborhood relatively closer to our school.
In primary school, i meet one of my best friends, Ryo Kikuchi (キクチ リョ), a Japanese boy, in our ESOL class. Whom, to this day, i'm still best friends with. During primary school, I developed a strong interest in drawing at a young age and learned to be more creative over the years. While in secondary school, I started taking interest in the musical department and started violin lessons in Orchestra but during my 8th grade year the musical instructor, Karen Butler crushed half of the classmates' dreams to become a musicianist. Including my own.
Though I still can play the violin, it is only a hobby.
When my primary school English teacher, Mrs. Donnan was pronounced with breast cancer in 1999(?), Me and my friend, Ryo folded over 1000 paper cranes and presented it to her by the end of the year. It's been one of the most best accomplishments i've done and will remember for a lifetime.

My interests include the following but not limited to:
- Entertainment: I enjoy television and it's many shows that premieres on screen. Many of some that have been on air for many seasons, some shows that i'm into are: Seinfeld, Friends, Grey's Anatomy and Smallville (Michael Rosenbaum is so cute!). Me, also being chinese, i watch chinese television channels like TVB and TVBS. I enjoy humor to action dramas, shows, and movies. I love asian romance dramas, which is quite different than american dramas, though i would enjoy it more if there was someone to share those sad and happy moments with. Some of which include:
I am mostly pessimistic about relationships and falling in love, which relatively rarely happens to me. But if a relationship comes along once in a while, i'm willing to try.
Scratch that.

Boys won't ever change and the only thing they like doing is breaking things. They're as dense like walls.

- She is ambidextrous and can draw with both hands simultaneously.
- Her left eye cannot see as well as her right eye, therefore, she uses glasses to try to correct this.
- Her favorite restaurant is 大家樂, though sadly, the restaurant chain is mostly located in Hong Kong and Macau.
- She slightly suffers from Acrophobia and Aquaphobia (mild fear of swimming in deep water).
- She has never learned how to swim.
- She enjoys collecting movie ticket stubs and business cards.
- Being a female, she has motherly instincts to have her own children later on in life (secretly). 1 boy and 1 girl.
- She secretly always wanted to become a rockstar and travel throughout the world on tours. But that is the life that she'll never lead.
- Out of her favorite taiwanese band, 五月天, her favorite band members are Ashin and Ming (both whom she has crushes on).
- She is an insomniac, always awake at night and always sleeping during the afternoon.
- She has a harsh addiction to Starbucks mocca coffee, or any coffee involved in her meals.
- She has made a list of things she wants to do in life, ever since she read a story in Chicken Soup for the Soul. Currently she is trying to tackle her tasks at hand one-by-one.
- She has a attraction towards geeky boys with horn-rimmed glasses (oddly resembling Rivers Cuomo of Weezer) all through-out her life.
- She just recently taken up Vipassana meditation.
- She is personally friends with Matteo Cavallaro, the front man for The Onlooker of Your Black Eyes and drummer of Afraid! in Italy.
- On her left hand, she has a visible small birthmark on the palm of her hand, just below the middle finger.
- She is relatively categorised as being fobby around her social crowd.
- Her left eye suffers from Amblyopia or lazy eye, which her left eye cannot see as clearly as her right eye.
