Umair Hussain

Umair Hussain (born 9 October 1981) is one of the suspects arrested in the UK in connection to the 2006 transatlantic aircraft terrorist plot in the United Kingdom, and one of the nineteen whose accounts were frozen by the Bank of England.[1]

He is the brother of Mehran Hussain and Nabeel Hussain, both of whom were also arrested for the alleged plot.

On diverse days between the 23 September 2005 and 10 August 2006 within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court had information which he knew or believed might be of material assistance in preventing the commission of another person namely, Nabeel Hussain, of an act of terrorism and failed to disclose it as soon as reasonably practicable. Contrary to Section 38B (1) (a) and (2) of the Terrorism Act 2000.

11th August 2006 Assets are frozen by the Bank of England and name published.

25th August 2006 Appearance at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court. Charged with failing to disclose information related to the alleged plot.

1st September 2006 Appearance at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

1st November 2006 Westminster Magistrate's Court confirmed that the case of Umair Hussain, 25, and Mehran Hussain 23, was discharged due to "insufficient information evidence."
