Umah is a supporting NPC in the video game Blood Omen 2: Legacy of Kain. She narrates a tutorial for the main character Kain (and thereby the player) at the beginning of the game. She reminds him of his vampiric abilities, and introduces him to Meridian, the fictional city in which the game is set.
[edit] Biography
Umah is a lieutenant of the Cabal, a resistance of vampires striving to fight the Sarafan Order, an order of humans bent on destryoing vampires. Umah was the one who nursed Kain's body back to health. After Kain awoke from his 200 year slumber, she showed him around Meridian, and tells him of Sanctuary. She was captured by the Sarafan and brought to the Sarafan Keep.
Once she is rescued by Kain, they met the Sarafan Lord, leader of the Sarafan. Kain threatens the Sarafan Lord saying he will kill him, but the Sarafan Lord finds his threats unmoving. Kain is ready to fight the Sarafan Lord, but Umah stops him. The Sarafan Lord, in possession of the Soul Reaver, attacks Kain with its magic as Kain prepairs to attack him. Before the Sarafan Lord can kill them, Umah uses a spell to bring them back to Sanctuary.
Returning to Sanctuary, Kain learns of the Nexus Stone. He then goes to get the Nexus Stone, and finds it being used to power a machine, guarded by his former lieutenant, Sebastian. Then he goes to meet the Seer and goes to the Device, an immense underground structure build eons ago by the Hylden. There Kain meets the Beast (who is actually Janos Audron) Once Kain kills the Mass, a creature which powers the Device, he sees the Beast's true form as Janos. There Janos tells Kain of how the Ancients (Legacy of Kain) fought the Hylden race. They return to Sanctuary, then Kain and Umah go to the Wharves.
Before any progress is made, however, Umah takes the Nexus stone from Kain, thinking him as too dangerous to be allowed to use it, fearing his ambition. Kain later finds her losing a fight against Sarafan troops, and when Kain finishes them, he kills her, and remarks that she "could have been his queen", hinting at an attraction. Later, in the Hylden City, Kain meets Vorador, and, when Vorador notices Umah's absence, Kain admits to killing her. Vorador is outraged that Kain could have intentionally murdered her. Kain dismissed the importance of it. Later, after Kain kills the Sarafan Lord, he questions Umah's words of how his rule would differ that of the Sarafan Lord. Unlike the other traitors of Kain, Umah was doing it to help her people instead of working for the Sarafan Lord.
