Uma Deusa na Bruma (A Goddess in the Mist) (ISBN 972-41-3288-9) is a historic novel by João Aguiar about a romance in the ending days of the civilization of Northern Portugal (Entre-Douro-e-Minho) in mid 2nd Century B.C. Despite the Roman Republic was already implemented in the South and East of the Iberian Peninsula, the Lusitanian and Numantine obstacles made a conquest by Rome very faraway, but suddenly Viriathus is killed by treason and Numancia surrenders to Rome. Decimus Junius Brutus, not scared about the myths that surround the region, marches north.
The scenery of Uma Deusa na Bruma is Cividade de Terroso (Póvoa de Varzim) known in the book as Tarrobriga, in which the reader is immersed in the magic and enchantment of the Celtic peoples of pre-Roman Portugal and the impact of the Roman culture.
