[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Downtown-akron.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Downtown-akron.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.
[edit] CARTOONS OF MOHAMMED
Showing the figures of Mohammed is disturbing muslims. And it is a insult to Islam. In Islam making and also looking the figures of Mohammed is forbidden. That is raping the holy things of Islam. And it is not about "freedom".PLEASE get back your sıgnature.Thanks.--Erdemsenol 01:10, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] From User talk:Erdemsenol
This isn't the middle east, and it never will be. We don't cower out when someone gets offended by something. Hell, I've seen a lot of the media in the middle east, and they have no problem mocking Jews and Christians. I guess Allah blesses that. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. You act like we single out the bad Muslims, but this proves that you're all the same. There will never be a tolerant strain in Islam because the religion is so monolithic and unchangeable. Why is pictures of your prophet so offensive? No one bothers to explain this. And 'because it is against Islam is not a valid reply. --UltraSkuzzi 02:07, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- I guess Allah blesses that...You act like we single out the bad Muslims, but this proves that you're all the same. There will never be a tolerant strain in Islam because the religion is so monolithic and unchangeable. UltraSkuzzi, note Wikipedia:Civility. The reason portraying the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is so offensive is that Islam prohibits shirk, associating another god with the one god, Allah. In fact, this is stated in the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy article:
-
- Islamic tradition bans any depiction of the prophets either in drawing or statues, even respectful ones, out of concern that such images could lead to idolatry, and thus worshipping of Muhammad instead of the One God.
[edit] From Dper User talk:CARTOONS OF MOHAMMED
If the issue is concern that someone might be lead to idolatry (in a world that is full of idolatry of other things), EXTREME OUTRAGE over the usage of one particular source of idolatry is evidence that that source (Mohammed even) is idolized by those who are outraged. --Go figure!
[edit] YOU NEED A MAP
IF HAVE YOU GOOGLE EART,PLEASE LOOK AT THE TURKEY FROM SATALITE.YOU ARE WORKING HELP DESK OF COLLEGE AND INTERESTING POLITIC.
YOU DONT KNOW WHERE IS TURKEY?
REPUBLIC OF TURKEY İS A SECULAR COUNTRY. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erdemsenol (talk • contribs)

- - What does that have to do with anything? America is a capitalist country and we have plenty of socialists. Turkey is a secular society in name only. The Islamists already have their footing in the government, it's just a matter of time before they start enforcing shar'ia law, and then you won't have to worry about these cartoons because they'll be censored by the benevolent government. Good going mate. --UltraSkuzzi 02:32, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Erdemsenol, note Civility. Calm down. And looking at a map won't tell you whether a country is democratic or secular (although Turkey is). joturner 02:30, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

I have no clue what you have said, and even if I did, it would probably be incoherent and easily rebutted. We won World War II, I know that's a travesty to you, because Hitler should have “finished the job” with the jews. And you have no clue what the situation in America is. We are not holding you down, you are holding yourself down with this illogical, dark age religion. --UltraSkuzzi 03:13, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:ClevelandCityFlag.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:ClevelandCityFlag.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 10:25, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:MF dam.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:MF dam.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 03:32, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Ohio Shields
My plan was to do them as I go, but the more and more I read that I understand why it would be better to do them all at once. When you said you wanted to do the Ohio State Highway 59 article, what did you mean (just for clarification)? Micheal 19:24, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:1985-canton-highways.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:1985-canton-highways.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:04, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- was that going to use 43 as a Spur or something? that would have been a good Idea back then. Meh they still haven't upgraded 30 to the county line yet. they are rather slow

[edit] Image:Downtown-akron.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Downtown-akron.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 16:59, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Do you have proof that Stark County has "irrevocably released all rights" to that image? ccwaters 20:07, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:AkronCityFlag.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AkronCityFlag.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:16, 7 September 2007 (UTC).
