The Ulster Minor Football Championship is the Minor "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Ulster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Ulster Council. The trophy for the winning side is The Liam Murray Cup. The competition began in 1930, with Armagh winning during the inaugural year. The most successful county to date is Tyrone who have won on twenty occasions. The current Ulster Minor football champions are Tyrone, winners of this year's title in perhaps the most controversial of circumstances in the competition's history. Unfortunately for their Oak Leaf County opponents, the match official failed to spot that one of Tyrone's scores was wide of the mark. As the Ulster Council failed to move with the times and use the conclusive video evidence, (presumably for fear of setting precedent), Tyrone go down in the record books as 2007 Champions. They will now go on to represent the Province, rightly or wrongly, in the latter stages of the All Ireland Minor Championship.
