[edit] Elms

Dear Peter, Thank you for your comments on my elm pages. Pleased at last to have made contact with you. Eric Collin wanted to renew contact but couldn't trace you. He was anxious to get samples of the Brighton trees Hans Heybroek had experimented with. In the end, Rob collected branches for me, and I went to Stanmer, cut suitable lengths off and took them to France during a weekend break. Klemmer: Klemmer is there, but under 'Trees of uncertain provenance', as Green thought it MAY be just a variety of Ulmus minor, not another x hollandica. Pages not that diffciult to write. Easiest way is to copy an existing page to get the format, and then just susbstitute the relevant details. If you give me the names of the Brighton specilas, I'll enter them on the Index page. One tree Rob couldn't find was Ulmus No. 1. If you could locate it, I could take samples and send them to France next spring. Regards, Ptelea 12:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Huntingdon Elm

Dear Ulmusenthu Thank you for adding the photos to my piece on the Huntingdon Elm. However, I'm advised by Richard Smith, a Cambridge alumnus and author of a paper on the Chichester Elm, that the trees at Queens College, Cambridge are in fact Chichester Elms. The photograph (Champhunt1) of the two tall elms, is that of the Queen's College trees? We recently donated 20 Lutece elms to Brighton, and hope to give specimens of the new Italian hybrids in the next year. The Luteces were given in gratitude for the supply of branch segments assembled at Stanmer that we took to Eric Collin's resarch station in France in February last year. Regards Ptelea 14:20, 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Welcome!

Hi Ulmusenthu, welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions on elms. You might like to consider uploading images directly to Wikimedia Commons so they can be more easily used on sister projects such as other-language Wikipedias. Here's a collection of elm images that have been uploaded there so far. --Melburnian 12:03, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:UgCamp1sttree.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:UgCamp1sttree.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:09, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I have added a copyright tag to this image (which reflects your statement on the image description page) to avoid it being potentially deleted --Melburnian 01:55, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
