The Siberian Elm Ulmus pumila cultivar 'Manchu' was raised by Stewarts Nurseries, Sutherland, Saskatchewan, circa 1951 from seed collected by Mr Ptitsin from near Harbin, China, and found to be quite hardy in Saskatchewan [1]. The tree was superseded in the USA by 'Dropmore'; it is not known whether it remains in cultivation.
